With a background in project management and development, Dave quickly adapted to multi-family construction. In 15 years, Dave has built over 30 single family, condo and townhome projects, including his own family home. He has impressed many as a forward thinker and excellent communicator.

State of the Art Designs
When as newlyweds almost 20 years ago, founders Lisa and David Chan invested in Yaletown presales they recognized that the quality of building and many of the details for comfort living were missed by developers. Yet it would have taken just a tiny bit more care to source better products and put more emphasis on the details for practical living. So in 2008, when they sought to build their own home they opted to be builder developer rather than buying on SPEC or from another developer.
Our Story
Illuminate is a female owned and family operated boutique builder of high quality homes, located in Vancouver BC. Over the last decade Illuma has built over 20 homes in Vancouver, Burnaby and New Westminster. It all started when Illuma built their first spec home for their own family just over 12 years ago, then for extended family and more recently an 18 unit townhome complex where many family and friends currently live. Over the years each project has been better than the previous and finally at the completion of the last project, Lanca, Illuminate realized that the most fulfilling part of their work was the building of homes that create community.
